USS Saugatuck

The Last Navy T2 Oiler, Continued

More photos provided graciously by Mr. Mike Hyde, taken on his tour last year.

USS Saugatuck And there she is, her poor old bow just nosing out of the pack, sharing her retirement and decrepitide with some other old Navy veterans, and LST on her starboard side, and an old LSD on her port side.

USS Saugatuck Her stern, with the little "porch" rigged over it. Too faded and painted over to be seen in this scanned photo is her name painted across the stern.
